Wairakei Primary School is poised to make an impact on stage with their Senior and Junior Kapa Haka Group. They will be wearing their new costumes for the performance. The costumes have been purchased with money from fundraising activities by the extended learning community and sponsorship.
As part of the last staff meeting teachers repaired poi and glued feathers together to create hair adornments. Whaea Margo was on hand to give instruction to those teachers who were learning a new skill. Ange was diligent with quality control and ensured that nothing with wonky feathers got past her eagle eye. Students, staff and whanau are looking forward to being part of the kapa haka celebration.
