Korowai Taonga-Korowai Treasure

During our Matariki Celebrations held in Term 3, Room 3 and 4 offered a mixed media feather workshop as part of our fabulous day of rotations.

It was a pleasure to have each tuakana-teina group through our classes. Watching the Senior students as leaders and helping our Juniors.

Every student in the school decorated a feather using Oil Pastel and Dye. We wanted every child’s name to be on our Korowai to display WHANAU.

Next Mrs Painter and Mrs Lightfoot cut out the feathers and Mrs Painter glued all of the feathers onto a piece of fabric creating our beautiful Korowai. We think it looks amazing.
