The start of our planning for our Terrariums
We looked up on the computer for different ideas for different Terrariums that we could try
Finding out how to create an environment for living plants and tiny insects and what layers were needed to help these plants survive.
There was a process of creating these. Firstly you started with stones or little rocks, followed by soil or potting mix, followed by moss or grass and finally plants or tiny creatures.
The students worked in groups and part of the learning was to develop an understanding of why these Terrariums are important in the living world as part of Environments that we care about.
Students researching the different types of Terrariums that they may like to create
This one had a living cockroach living in the Terrarium
Students getting ready to create their own Terrariums. They bought from all the different ingredients that were needed. Lots of discussions and talking about the types they were going to create. There was also sharing amongst others in case someone forgot to bring part of their Terrarium ingredient.
