We had a sensational evening on Thursday night at the POWER picnic. This event had a great attendance and ended with a lovely cake cutting of our POWER cake. The weather looked after us as well. Thank you to everyone who attended and enjoyed looking around the classrooms. A special thank you to Rooms 1 and 2 for sharing their Power assembly.
I would personally like to thank John Painter for manning the BBQ, the teachers and teacher aides who supported the evening and to Toia Harris for creating our wonderful POWER cake. While I didn’t get a piece to try I enjoyed looking at it and being able to share it with the community.
The teachers have asked families to check that your school clothes are named. Hats in particular are quite hard to manage at the moment and we need help the teachers by naming with twink pens. The white on blue is easier to read than black on blue.
Parent teacher discussions are happening next week. This is a time for parents and students to come together with their class teacher to look at the learning goals for the next term. On the walls in the classroom are the next learning steps that will help to form the goals for each child. Reading, writing, and maths learning steps will be on the walls in every room and in student books. This will help parents to know what your child is learning and what they need to focus on next. Our report forms are being altered to address this as well.
Our students are practicing for the school athletics day coming up. Another opportunity for you to join us here at school.
Please support the school PTA and order some corn. It is the most amazing taste and is good value for money.
