Our visit to Oruanui Marae was a real highlight. Everyone got to try the fried bread and enjoy the sweet treat. Other activities were rakau, carving, marae building, waiata, and flax creations.
The most striking thing about our visit was the tuakana teina shown. Students that may otherwise not know each other were working together, sharing new learning and experiences. It was a very inclusive day and we thank all the parents and helpers that came and joined us. Special thanks to Whaea Margo, Matua Grant, and Oruanui Marae.
