Recycling comes in many forms

Our school Kapa Haka Group required Rakau sticks for their performances. The most cost effect way was to purchase leaf rakes and use the wooden handles.

The enviro students use the rake parts in pairs (like big hands) to collect up the leaves around the school.

We have been experimenting growing celery in the Aquaponics Unit.

Even though these two bunches produced smaller than ‘shop size’ stalks, the children really loved the taste. They didn’t even leave any to show the staff or parents.
