Solo Describe map

This term our Inquiry has focused on “Community”.  As a starting point Room 11 thought we would focus on our school community.  We brainstormed the different people who help us in our school and each shared what we thought was the role they played. We completed a compare/contrast map so we would know the difference between a statement (telling) and question (asking) and then formulated some questions we wanted to ask Mrs Penny, Mrs Mansfield and Mr Painter.  We talked about how we could display what we had found about their jobs. Working together in small groups, over several weeks, we created lifesize portraits to share what we had learnt.  Finally we used a describe to identify the characteristics of their jobs and why these were important in our school community. We hope you enjoy our creations.
