Stained Glass Cookies

In Room 15 we had lots of fun cooking stained glass cookies.

We began by cutting out a large shape from sweet short pastry. We then cut out a small shape from inside the large one and put a hard-boiled lolly in this hole. Mrs Thompson got us to predict what might happen when the cookies were baked.  It was exciting to see that the lolly melted and created a ‘stained glass’ window in the cookie. We wrote instructions on how to make them, so that we could make them at home for Christmas. The best part though... was eating them!
