Today, our families and community members joined us to carry out the planting of native trees at the top of our gully. Every student planted a tree which has been labelled with their name. Yes it was raining so everyone put their coats on, grabbed umbrellas and enjoyed the wonderful experience. The trees were sponsored by; Families, Taupo Bungy, Green Taupo and Taupo Native Plant Nurseries. The planting was followed by a BBQ which was sponsored by Vet Plus Taupo and M21 Butchery. Senior classes budded with our juniors classes for the day. Thanks to the marvelous pre-planning by Management, Roz and Jono, the whole project ran very smoothly.
Our planting also coincides with Arbor Day 2014 and fits well with this terms classroom topic of “Bioshere” - the layers that make up our environment.

The group came out on Saturday and helped put more tyre stairs in, reform the walking tracks and plant some flax plants.

We are proud of our new trees.
Students had fun weeding the Brain Maze as well as collecting more cabbage tree leaves for firelighters - we’ve sold over 100 this week. With the colder weather now here, we moved the Worm Farm into the shed for the winter months.
We put our name tag on the tree we planted.
Yummy hot sausages to end the day.
