Using face masks for this fairy tale, we all took a turn to role-play a character, making sure we changed the tone of our voices and used body actions like our character in the story.
Looking at how the magic beans grew into an enormous beanstalk in the story, we decided to investigate how to grow a bean seed to find out how we can grow a beanstalk and what important elements the seeds need to grow. Mrs Griffin showed us how to plant our bean seeds into the soil by making a hole with our finger to pop the seed into.
Leela said, We planted our bean seed and have to give it water so it can grow.
Andi said, Our beans will grow as tall as the clouds.
We put our name on an ice block stick and placed it inside the soil beside our bean seed, so we can remember which seed is ours.
Thea said, When they grow big enough, we can pick the beans and eat them.
Knowing our bean seeds need the warm sun to grow, we placed them beside the window and watched them grow!
It has been very exciting to see how fast our bean plants have grown.
We are waiting to see if they will grow as tall as the beanstalk in the story.
