Kia ora koutou,
Ko Tauhara toku maunga,
Ko Taupo-nui-a-tea toku moana,
Ko Indian Empire toku waka,
Ko Ngati Pakeha te iwi.
Ko Ben Kidd ahau.
Growing up here in Taupo in the 90’s, I did my schooling with a strong connection to the area and the Taupo community.
I moved to Dunedin for my high school years, developing a love for music and singing, and eventually completing a degree in opera singing at Otago.
Throughout my life, I always felt most at home teaching, helping young people bring out their potential and skills, finding that “lightbulb” moment along the way.
I studied teaching in Christchurch in 2019, at the New Zealand Graduate School of Education.
I am so pleased to begin my teaching journey here at Wairakei, where I am able to bring my love for learning, music and the Taupo community into one place.
Tena koutou katoa.
